Snowmobile

Whether you are a day-tripper or a long distance traveler, the Near North Trail Association has 3,500 km of interconnecting, scenic trails, groomed and ready to suit every rider's needs or abilities.  There are numerous fuel and rest stops along the trails, catering to the average snowmobiler.  The Trans Ontario Provincial Trail (TOP Trail) is the trunk trail system that provides access across the province.  This main corridor expands to include feeder trails and club trails that connect communities of the Near North.

The Ride Around Nipissing Tour (R.A.N. Tour) is a self-directed tour taking you to various beautiful communities found around Lake Nipissing, one of Ontario's most beautiful lakes.  This tour can range from 400 km to as long as the rider likes.  Visitors can choose to extend their stay and explore over 3,500 km of world-class trails in Ontario's Near North.  For more information, visit Ontario's Near North's website at www.ontariosnearnorth.on.ca.

It is the law in Ontario that snowmobilers are required to obtain an OFSC trail permit in order to access the snowmobile trails.  This permit is only valid in Ontario and can only be used for Prescribed Trails operated by the Federation.  For information about where to purchase permits in this region, you can contact one of the Club's listed below, or you can visit the Near North Trail Association's website at www.nnta.net.

Permit fees for 2009:
Full Season  - $ 280
Before Dec 1 - $ 180
7-day permit  - $ 120
3-day permit  - $  90
