Description:
The
Corbeil Circle Tour offers an easy ride along a
rural highway, country back roads, and paved
trail. The tour starts at the Dionne Quints
Museum in North Bay and takes cyclists around the
region following the Quints' history. The
public beach on Trout Lake at Elks Lodge Family
Park on Highway 17 offers a nice spot for a
break. Farther along, another opportunity to
enjoy Trout Lake presents itself with a short
detour to the end of MacPherson Drive off of
Centennial Crescent. Enjoy the peaceful
countryside along Centennial Crescent, before
hitting the paved shoulders of Highway 94 and the
community of Corbeil. Nipissing Manor in
Corbeil is the home built specifically for the
Dionne Quints. Once in Callander, cyclists
can take the Kate Pace Way back to North Bay.
Route:
Starting
at the Information Centre at 1375 Seymour Street
in North Bay, take Highway 17 east towards
Mattawa. After
approximately 4.5 km (2.8 mi), Centennial Crescent
will appear on the left. Take
Centennial Crescent in a 7.5 km (4.7 mi) arc
crossing Highway 17 to Highway 94 south towards
Corbeil. The
Highway 94 leg of the route is approximately 9 km
(5.6 mi) to the community of Callander. Turn
right onto Callander Bay Drive and then left on
Fairway Drive/Cranberry Road to connect to the
Kate Pace Way/Trans Canada Trail. The trailhead to
the Kate Pace Way is a short distance along
Cranberry Road. Once
in North Bay, numerous options exist to get back
to the Information Centre.
