Description:
The
Seguin Trail is managed by the Park-to-Park Trail
Association, with sections designated as part of
the Trans Canada Trail. This 60 km (37.3 mi)
rail corridor is the original rail bed constructed
by JR Booth in the late 1800s for moving lumber
from the Ottawa River area to shipping yards on
Georgian Bay and was vital in transporting grain
from the west, faster than by ships through the
Great Lakes. It should be noted that the
trail is popular for both motorized and
non-motorized trail use.
Directions:
From
the HWY 11/17 junction near Seymour Street, take HWY 11 south for 100
km (62.1 miles). Take exit 244 for Scotia
Road/Fern Glen Road. Turn right at Fern Glen
Road, and turn left to stay on Fern Glen
Road. The trail begins 2 km (1.24 miles)
further, at Walls.
