Description:

The Ahmic Lake Route allows cyclists to explore the quiet country back roads around Ahmic Lake.  The route is laden with picturesque scenes along the Magnetawan River and Ahmic Lake.  The two small village hamlets of Magnetawan and Ahmic Harbour present cyclists with all of the amenities needed to make a day of this enjoyable trip around the lake.

Route:

Starting at Ahmic Harbour, travel along Ahmic Lake Road, past the narrows of Neighick and Crawford Lakes.

Follow Ahmic Lake Road until you meet up with the Old Nipissing "Ghost Road" at Spence.

Turn left on Nipissing Road pat the Spence Cemetery, enjoying beautiful Ahmic Lake along the way.

Follow Nipissing Road through Magnetawan to Highway 520 traveling west.

When Highway 520 meets Highway 124, turn west (to the left).  This short portion of highway skirts Whalley Lake then passes Knoepfli Falls where Ahmic Lake drops back into the Magnetawan River.

A little further along, Fagan Falls also drops into the Magnetawan River, just before the Village of Ahmic Harbour.

Directions:

From the HWY 11/17 junction near Seymour Street, head southeast on HWY 11 for 68 km (42.3 miles).  Take a right onto HWY 124 for 31 km (19.3 miles).  Turn left at Ahmic Lake Road.
