Description:
The
Dam Trail begins with a small footpath that crosses the provincial
lift locks over the Magnetawan River leading to a small island chain
that stretches across the water. The trail is a network of
footpaths on the first and largest of the islands and provides a short
and easy walk through a mixed upland hardwood and conifer bush.
Interpretive signs can be found beside the trail in several locations
detailing some of the local history and ecological features of the
area.
Directions:
From
the HWY 11/17 junction near Seymour Street, head southeast on HWY 11
for 68 km (42.3 mi).
Turn right at HWY 124, and travel for 20 km (12.4
mi).
Turn left at HWY 510, and left again at HWY 520.
Turn left to stay on HWY 520, and the Dam will be on the right.
