Description:

The Amable du Fond route originates in Ballantyne Township outside of Algonquin Provincial Park.  The river continues through the Park and out again at Kiosk.  The route to Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park contains several rapids including the Eau Claire Gorge.

Directions (to Trout Lake): 

From the HWY 11/17 junction near Seymour Street, head south on HWY 11 for 38 km (23.6 mi).  Take exit 306 to Hemlock Road/Trout Creek.  Turn left at HWY 522 West and then left at Forestry Road.  Take the 2nd right to stay on Forestry Road and continue for 17.5 km (10.9 mi).  TUrn left and continue on for 4.2 km (2.6 mi) to the lake.
