March 6, 2010 - 10:00 am

Snowshoe Trails and Wagging Tails Dog Walk

This annual North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority event began in 2002, and continues to help raise money for the North Bay and District Humane Society.  Bring your own dog or volunteer to walk one of the Humane Society's dogs, and venture out onto the Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area Trails at 15 Janey Avenue in snowshoes.  There is no cost to attend this event, however, monetary donations are appreciated.

 

March 15-19, 2010 - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

March Break Camp

Available for youth ages 6 to 9 years old, and takes place in the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority's Natural Classroom as well as on the Escarpment Trails.  Cost is $26/child per day, or $105/child for the entire week.  To register, please call the Conservation Authority at (705) 474-5420.

Guided Snowshoe Tours

The Sturgeon River House Museum offers guided snowshoe tours on the Theodore Fouriezos Wetland Trails throughout the month.  For more information, please call the Museum at (705) 753-4716.

La Vase Canoe Night

This year, presentations for 2010 will include Clive Rennie who will share his experiences on the Coppermine River, and the award winning photography of local photographer Darren Makarenko.  Canoe Night takes place at Nipissing University.  Admission is free, but donations to the Friends of La Vase are appreciated.  For more information, please visit the Friends of La Vase website at www.lavaseportages.com.

Earth Day Hike
